There is no traffic running through your bedroom 2-6-2019 Secrets For A Happier Life

SECRETS FOR A HAPPIER LIFE

ARE YOU ENJOYING THIS MOMENT …RIGHT NOW?
As I got out of bed this morning the sky was blue, the three days of rain in South Florida had stopped.   Out of thin air the thought, “there is no traffic running through your bedroom,” ran through my mind. At first it seemed clearly a reminder that there is an opportunity to relish and absorb the peacefulness of no “traffic.”
And by taking it in deeply and holding its accompanying sensation it would become easier to recall it at times during the remainder of the day.
I always had a similar awareness at the beach of no “traffic.” The beach was open, clear and before cell phones almost unreachable. That is until a family vacation to Daytona Beach in Florida. The sand there is firm, hard and dense enough to drive on the beach. There are parking areas, driving lanes and yes still areas for blankets and routine beach going.
The problem was there was traffic. Not “traffic” but real actual traffic.   My kids were under 8 and even though they were cognizant and familiar of staying away from the water’s edge without being watched they were not accustomed to not being able to run willy-nilly on the sand. I was unable to comfortably close my eyes and absorb the sun rays as I kept one eye open for traffic.
Everything worked out fine including the fireworks show until the one guy that parked too close to the water’s edge forgot about the tide coming in and found his back tires sunk down into the sand with the belly of his car against the ground and unable to do anything but wait for the tow truck.
Stuff  like the tide and “traffic” comes up to meet us about half of every day; it along with taxes is unstoppable.   However, we can prepare. We can remember the tide will rise and that it will also fall. We can notice which way the wind and the tide is going. Which way is the traffic coming from. We can use the times especially in the early morning when there is no “traffic” in our bedroom’s to truly appreciate the stillness at the changing of the tide from sleep to being awake.
Take some time about 17 seconds to fully absorb the quality of no “traffic.”
For real traffic: Stop, look and listen has always been good advice.
It’s a great habit but perhaps we can avoid being so cautious that we look both ways when crossing a one way street.

We are all familiar with earth and space gravity.  Everything pulls and attracts everything else towards it.  The earth is so large in size compared to all of the objects we come in contact with that everything seems to fall toward the earth.  Spiritual gravity is similar in that everything is pulled or attracted to the center of the Heart of the Universe.        SPIRITUAL GRAVITY a blog
