Generate Your Own Happiness June 3, 2010
Dear Michael,

Welcome back to Secrets For A Happier Life.

 
I invite you to read below on how you can affect your level of happiness.

We all want to be happy.

 
Happiness can be found within ourselves as well as being a result of outer events.
We can use our own past happy experiences to grow happiness right now.
 

Small Moments Of Happiness

Plan
 
To shift at will into a happier feeling.
To develop a trigger zone on the body that when thought about and set off creates happiness.
 
Decide if you want to be happier right now. If your answer is yes then continue. 

Quick Changes
 

Start practicing these three actions.
 
Step One
 
Focus attention on one or both of these pictures.

Let your mind wander around the image and the memories it elicits.
When you find a happy thought place attention on that thought. 
Expand the minds image of that thought and add more details about it. 
Really concentrate on that happy memory.
Next scan your body for any sensation that you are aware of right now. 
You are looking to find a body sensation, a trigger, that is associated with the feeling of happiness that you have.
When you find the happy sensation be aware that you are happy.
 
Step two
 
During the day notice when you are happy. 
When you become aware of feeling happy quickly scan your body and find the associated body sensation. 
Build on that sensation and compared it to the one you have from step one above.
Be aware at that moment that you are happy.  
 
Step three –  Practice Practice Practice
 
Repeat steps one and two.
Focus on the associated sensation.
You will gradually develop a trigger sensation that when set off creates happiness.
You will be able to sit still and by thinking, set off the trigger and immediately feel happiness spread from that place.

Feel the feelings generated by thinking each of the words.

Now instead of thinking a word, think about the trigger sensation and set it off.

 

Feel the associated happiness spreading from that place.

Golf Secrets:  A golfer’s perspective for living in the moment

Most putts end up short rather than long.  When you are setting up to putt and focus intently on the hole it tends to make the distance to the hole appear shorter.  When setting up the putt look out and include more of the green so that the hole is seen as a part of the green.
